Hej,

I need help with Anna Christensdatter's baptism record:  26 Dec 1699, Sct. Ibs Kirke, Ibsker Sogn, Øster Herred, Bornholm  -  Ibsker Sogn Kirkebog 1687-1767, opslag 24b and FamilySearch image 25b

This is what I have so far:

_?_  bar Margreta Valentin Dechners?. Faddere: Chri
stopher Maton?,  Peder Jensmads[en]?   Kirsten H?  Je?
     ????  Birgetta Anders J??

I have attached an image for you.

Please transcribe the record in Danish and then translate into English if you can.

I need particular help with the spelling of the names.  They are new to me.

Thank you for your help.

mvh,

David

Yes, they (also) had some special names on Bornholm.

Here is my best:

d(en) 26. Døbte Jeg Christen Immeds(ens) Daatter Annam*
Hende bar Margreta Valentin Dechners. Faddere: Chri-
stopher Maton,  Peder Immeds(en), Kirsten Henrich  Je-
spers(ens),  Birgitta Anders Immeds(ens)

*see the same name 3 lines above (Hans Jensen's daughter)

The 26th I baptized Christen Immedsen's daughter Annam
Her carried Margreta Valentin Dechner's. Witnesses: Chri-
stopher Maton, Peter Immedsen, Kirsten Henrich Jes-
persen's, Birgitta Anders Immedsen's.

Do you know, that you can search on the church registers of Bornholm before 1814 at http://www.kirkebog.dk/ ?

mvh Ole

Hello Ole,

I am curious about the spelling of the names in this community on Bornholm.  Do you think they were from Sweden or Baltic northern Europe?  They all seem very atypical for 20-30 Danish names used on Bornholm.

Tak!

David

I think that people came to Bornholm from the whole Baltic area, and some settled there.

Med venlig hilsen (With friendly regards)
