In a photo of my great grand uncle Niels Ingvardt Madsen he is wearing medals.  Can anyone identify what the medals are?  Mange tak.

One of them - the one with the big cross - is Dannebrogsordenens Hæderstegn - often given to veteranes from the war in 1848-1850 or 1864

Might be translated as Medal for 16 years of service for sub-officers.

The round medal with the striped band is for participation in the war 1864.

My great - grandfather got this one and the one with the big cross.

Thank you for posting this question.  I have an ancestor who has the large cross as well and I never thought to ask about it.
