Could this possibly be your Albert Christian Andersen Holm in the Copenhagen police registry http://www.politietsregisterblade.dk/index.php?option=com_sfup&controller=politregisterblade&task=viewRegisterblad&id=1461519&searchname=polit_simple

He was born in Vemmelev, Slagelse, Sorø on 27 Feb 1892 and baptized as Albert Kristian Andersen, parents Hans Kristian Andersen and Maren Kirstine Hansen, opslag 2 nr 5.  Note that he added the last name Strusholm some time after his baptism.  He might have shorted it to Holm when he arrived in England.

Thank you all for the generous responses. I have now found out that my grandfather was born in Sonder Onsild, his parents were Jens Christian Anderson Holm and Karen Christensen . His father worked as a brugsforening bestyrer, which translates as a cooperative manager, which I assume mean a cooperative farm?

Brugsforening means a cooperative shop/supermarket, and bestyrer means manager/head of ..

I found the confirmation 1875 of Jens Christian Andersen, born 7 March 1861 in Sønder Onsild Mark:

Randers, Onsild, Sønder Onsild 1857-1876, opslag 63, no 5 (source http://www.sa.dk/content/dk/ao-forside/find_kirkeboger).

He added Holm to his name in June 1905. This information is from his birth record on opslag 11, no 1, in the church book mentioned above. In 1905 he was living in Lemvig or its surroundings (in Ringkøbing county), if I interpret the remark about change of name correctly.

His son Alfred Kristian Andersen was born 29 April 1892 in Sønder Onsild (Sønder Onsild 1892-1905, opslag 3, no 4). Holm was added to his name as well in June 1905.

This is amazing! Thanks to everyone's help I have been able to identify that Hans Henrik Holm is second cousin, but better that that is that Hans Henrik Holm has written a book about his grandfather's life.

Hans Henrik's son-in-law is living in Copenhagen as per www.degulesider.dk (free telephone directory). Write his name, only the first and the last, and you will find him. You could call him. There are too many Hans Henrik Holm (23) to be able to decide, who is the right one. The grandson could be on Facebook (?)
