Mikkel Eide Eriksen

Hi Sallie,

First in Danish as I read it, then English with some notes:

"Aar 1846 den 29 Mai anmeldte [??] Eriksen at Jomfru
Johanne Jensine Chrane 27 Aar ib idag er afgaaet ved Døden
uden Efterladenskaber."

"Year 1846 on May 29th [??] Eriksen reported that Miss
Johanne Jensine Chrane 27 years ib today has passed away
leaving nothing behind."

"Miss" = literally it says "Virgin" which was used as the title for unmarried women at the time.
"ib" = latin "ibidem" meaning "the same place" (as previously mentioned, probably probate above this one)
The [??] part I can't parse, it's most likely Eriksen's position/title, and looks like it starts with "Korpa-" but that doesn't make sense.

It's basically a declaration of death and that there was no inheritance, thus no inheritors.

Regards,
Mikkel

Hi Mikkel,

Thank you very much! Now we know when she died.

The probate record is from Holbæk Byfoged, Book 12  1840-1853, p. 162; LDS microfilm #49319. The other entries on the page also say "ib" I will try to go back and look at the film again.

Thank you again for your help. I'm happy to have this information.

Kind regards,

Sallie Hobbs
