Numerous translations?

I take it from reading this forum that the members are very generous with offering their assistance with translations, purely out of the goodness of their hearts.  I'm wondering what to do, though, if one has a large number of documents they'd like assistance with (say 20 or so).  Would it be at all appropriate to post them here in a batch?  Or, perhaps more appropriately, could I pay someone to take them on?  Forgive my naivete; I'd just hate to come barging in here with a fistful of documents demanding free translation assistance when I'm perfectly capable of paying someone a fair fee to do it.

Also, a second question.  Through google, I have found an old thread on this forum discussing one of my ancestors. I'm wondering if an English speaker might be able to assist me with finding the thread and/or contributors so that I can either post on the thread or contact the participants about their research.

Many thanks,

B. Bowen

Good evening Brigham!

Conc. the first topic, it is wise to raise only one item per thread - because it will more "streamlined" to answer.

Then the heading could be more adequate in stead of just "Translation needed" ie. like the following:
Birth, county, district, parish, 1788 ~ 1815. Then in the text add further details like "opslag #" and "item #", name of the person etc.

Regarding your second topic, I presume that the thread you want to be found, must be in the old DIS-site, I will be happy to assist you to trace the old thread. Just mention appx date the discussion took and ancestors involved, then the search function by using your name as a guideline, could give a result.

Thanks very much, Ulf.  I'll give it a try with a couple of documents and see how it goes.

On the second topic, I should have highlighted somehow that my prior post links to the original thread.  Here is the link:

If it is the old threads, Google Translate can give you some help.

Good morning Brigham!

There are two members in the thread in question:

1) Morten Hovedskov Nielsen, morten.h.nielsen(a)gmail.com, placing the inquery and

2) Ejvind Rasmussen, kjeld.e(a)privat.dk, who is replying.

I'll suggest that you send a common e-mail to both, substitute (a) with @, with reference to the danish thread ( http://www.dis-danmark.dk/forum/read.php?1,459302,459302#msg-459302 ) and raising your question.
