Request for information about Jens Friis

Hello,

I am hoping that somebody in this forum will be able to help.  I am trying to locate information about a Jens J. Friis, born around 1864 somewhere in Denmark.  What I do know about him is that he married a daughter (Anne Petersen Viuf (also spelled Wiuff) of my great great grandfather (Christen Petersen Viuf (Wiuff) around 1885, but I do not know where in Denmark.  She was born in 1862 Vejstrup, Vejle -I have already found her birth reccord. In 1880 she was working as servant for Jep Steffesen Jepsen (1880 census record from Taps, Vejle). And that that after marrying Jens Friis they immigrated to America in 1891, already having 4 children younger then 5 years old (according to the Hamburg Passenger Lists).  It says that their last residence was Hjortslund (Ribe).

In America they lived in the state of Iowa until their deaths in the early 1920s.

I need help finding the marriage date and location, birth record for Jens J. Friis, and birth records for any/all of the children.  Any help finding any of this information is greatly appreciated.

How where you able to find them so quickly?  I have been looking through many church books for them for days.

Hi Kelli

I found the family in FT 1890 (incl.  birthplaces) and from US census 1900 the month of birth.

Then it was easy to find the marriage and the birth of the 3 children born before 1890.

To find Bodil Kristine Jørgensen Friis I had to use hard work and luck !!
