1848 - 1851 war, Are there naval enlistment records for this period???

My G G grand uncle, "Soren Michelsen (b) 5 Mar 1832 Ballum" was a ships carpenter, not sure if he was on a war ship, a supply ship, or just worked in a dock yard doing repairs??
any information would be great.

There were many ship yards around in Denmark, so he could have been 'anywhere'.
Coming from Ballum could indicate that he had been in the navy at some time.
Naval enlistment records are not online, they are in Rigsarkivet (State Archive) in Copenhagen, and it's probably
like looking for a needle in a big haystack.
Do you have any other informations about him?
