Hello. So this is my 2nd thread here. I was so amazed by how everyone were helpful, you made me all very happy.

This time I am looking for anchestry of the husband, my great grandfather Erik Ernst Andresen.
I managed to dig up some stuff myself, but nothing much.

Now, he was born 10.11.1903 and died 31.08.1951, throat cancer.
He married to Else Tagea Andresen 10.12.1933.

He had three children: Kirsten Andresen, Niels Ernst Andresen and Annelise Andresen.

Erik's siblings were:

1. Kristian Wenzel Andreasen (he was the only sibling that had the Andreas name, the priest wrote it incorrectly for Louis so after that they all changed their names, except Wenzel.
Wenzel was born 1899, dead June 1960.
2. Jørgen Louis Andresen, born 23. 01. 1902 and died 15. 01. 1987.
3. Erik himself :P
4. Else Andresen (now Thomsen), born 30.03.1906 and died 24.04.1974
5. Inger Andresen (now Dehm), born 27.10.1907 and died 25.01.1978
6. Thorvald Johannes Andresen, born 14.11.1909 and died 26.06.1944
7. Gerda Andresen, born 28.12.1912 and died 15.03.1928
8. Kirsten Louise Andresen (now Jørgensen), born 26.01.1917 and died 08.01.1984

----------------
Their parents were:
F. Andreas Ernst Andreasen, born 24. 08.1874 and died 12.06.1951
M. Catrine Bech/Beck (now Andreasen), born 20.02.1877 and died 08.06.1949.
-
Andreas Ernst had the following siblings:
-
1. Andreas was oldest, born in Agedrup.
2. Kirstine Andreasen (tante) ??, born 1876 and died 24.08.1962
3. Marie Andreasen (now Ernland), born 1872, was dead in 1962.
4. Hans Erik Andreasen, born 1879, was alive in 1962.
5. Kirsten - was born after 1880, still alive in 1930, married to Peder Hansen.
-
Catrine's known sibling was:
-
Magnus Bech, dates unknown, married to Johanne, had a son called Harry Bech, dead in 1991.
----------------

Andreas's parents:

F. Jørgen Andreasen, born 21.12.1840 in Agedrup (that is in Fyn?). death date unknown.
M. Anne (Ane?) Eriksen, born 1839. death date unknown

----------------

Catrine's parents:

Unknown.

------------------------------------------

This is all the information I have on them.
So any help is very much appreciated!
I really ought to get in contact with some of the descendants of Andreas and Catrine. We own one picture of them, printed on plain paper, it's a dreadful sight to see. How I'm longing for pictures of them.

Sincerely, Kristján.

Hi once again Kristjan,

Here is what I have found so far, hopefully more to follow.

Andreas Ernst Anderesen and Cathrine Bek married in Skt Knud, Odense, Odense on 13 Jul 1901, opslag 276 nr 23.

Andreas Emil Andresen was born 24 Aug 1874, parents Jørgen Anderesen and Ane Eriksen, Agedrup, Bjerge, Odense, opslag 13 nr 5.

Katrine Kristensen Bek was born 20 Feb 1877, parents Søren Christensen and Lovise Mogensen, Ryde, Lolland Sønder, Maribo, opslag 100 nr 4.

Sinderely, Paul

Kristján Unnar Ellertsson

Hello, and thank you for these information! I am looking forward to see what you might find in the future! There is a name, Maren Jørgensen, which is connected to either Jørgen Andreasen or Ane Eriksen.
I decided to skip the Maren name because I was very unsure about who it might be, but most likely the parent of one of them.

By my simple google search, I found this:
http://www.virgo-fyn.dk/html/kirkehtm/aged40.html

"1874, 18 october, Andreas Ernst Andreasen, en søn, , Jørgen Andreasen [husmand], , Ane Eriksen, 34, vester kjærby"
This is the record from when he was baptised?

I find it interesting he is named "Andreas Emil Andresen" - was his middle name written wrongly in the churchbook?
Also I was wondering, you often write the surname as Andresen or Anderesen. Is that how it is written in the chruchbook?

Thanks again for the information you've gotten so far. I'll be looking forward to see if there's any progress tomorrow. I'm too tired right now to search for anything (not to mention I've been busy tracing the Norse side of my family)

Sincerely, Kristján.

What a marvellous information.

I come from Iceland, hence why I'm so interested in genealogy (It's said every Icelander love's genealogy.. not true, but true in my case :P)
You might have heard of Islendingabók, where we can trace our ancestry back to the year 800 in some cases, but I had no information whatsoever on my ancestors in Denmark/Norway that I just had to find them.

Name:    Age:    Marital status:      Pos. in household:      Occupation:      Birth place:
Jesper Tagesen    65    Gift    hosbonde    bonde og gaardbeboer
Karen Larsdatter    46    Gift    madmoder
Tage Jespersen    18    Ugift    søn af 1st ægteskab
Hans Christian Jespersen    4    Ugift    søn af 1st ægteskab
Lars Nielsen    76    Gift    madmoderens fader    begge nyder ophold af gaarden

Christian Olsen    1    Ugift    søn af 1st ægteskab
Anna Olesdatter    8    Ugift    søn af 1st ægteskab

^^From your last post, or almost last post:
Lars Nielsen & Kirstine Lisbeth Andersdatter = Karen Larsdatter's parents right? She's the madmoder, and they're said to be madmoderen's father and mother right?
Then there are siblings there. I love this.
Sincerely, Kristján.

Paul Londahl-Smidt

Hi Kristjan,

I thought you were from Iceland because of the spelling of your name.  Here is some more information for your growing family tree.

Karen Larsdatter was born 1 Dec 1743 in Agedrup, opslag 58, father Laurs Nielsen, mother not named.

Laurs Nielsen and Kirstine Elisabeth Andersdatter were married in Agedrup on 30 Dec 1742, opslag 232.

Paul

Hi Kristjan,

Jesper Tagesen married Karen ??datter in Agedrup, Bjerge, Odense on 20 Jun 1766, opslag 240.  Perhaps some kind person will look at the record and see if they can make out her patrynym.  It is Larsdatter.

Sincerely,
Paul

Ellen Steen-Petersen

Hi Paul / Kristjan

I read it as Karen Laursdatter.

Tak Ellen.  Jesper Tagesen, age 87, was buried in Agedrup on 25 Sep 1805, opslag 220.

Kristján Unnar Ellertsson

Hi everyone.

One thing I dont understand:

"Tage Jespersen was born 10 Sep 1769 in Agedrup, father Jesper Tagesen, mother not listed, opslag 112."

1787 census I believe:

Name:    Age:    Marital status:      Pos. in household:      Occupation:      Birth place:
Jesper Tagesen    65    Gift    hosbonde    bonde og gaardbeboer
Karen Larsdatter    46    Gift    madmoder
Tage Jespersen    18    Ugift    søn af 1st ægteskab
Hans Christian Jespersen    4    Ugift    søn af 1st ægteskab
Lars Nielsen    76    Gift    madmoderens fader    begge nyder ophold af gaarden
Kirstine Lisbeth Andersdatter    70    Gift    hendes moder    begge nyder ophold af gaarden
etc....

So Karen Larsdatter is not Tage's blood related  mother? She's his step-mother?

then there is this in 1801 census I believe:

Name:    Age:    Marital status:      Pos. in household:      Occupation:      Birth place:
Tage Jespersen    32    Gift    Deres søn    Faderens medhiælper
Magrete Kirstine Nielsdatter    28    Gift    Sønne kone
Niels Tagesen    4    -    Deres barn
Christiane Tagesdatter    2    -    Deres barn
Ebbe Larsen    21    Ugift    Karl    Landsoldat
Peder Hansen    14    -    Dreng
Johanne Nielsdatter    24    Ugift    Sønne kones søster
Karen Nielsdatter    14    -    Sønne kones søster

"Sønne kone" = 2nd wife ?? (assuming the previous wife died, if sønne means 2nd then, I can't find this in a dictionary), but Magrete Kirstine Nielsdatter is Andreas Tagesen's blood mother though?

Sincerely,
Kristján.

Paul Londahl-Smidt

Hi Kristjan,

Tage Jespersen is the son of Jesper Tagesen and Karen Larsdatter.  Apparently the census taker just wanted to show this was their first marriage.

I will work on your second question and try to answer it.

Paul

Maybe the website https://familysearch.org/learn/wiki/en/Denmark could be helpful in your search for your Danish ancestors.

In the Danish-English wordlist https://familysearch.org/learn/wiki/en/Danish_Word_List you'll find sønnekone  ;)

Hi Inge.

This webside seems very helpful, I will have a look  at this once I have time, which should be soon.

My main goal is to reach up to all of Erik Ernst's great great grandfathers/mother, just like we did for Else Tagea's ancestors, with the great help from Ellen. I am still so thankful to her.
With the webside I could maybe understand more how this works.

Sincerely,
Kristján.

This is hard, not sure if I´ve located Marie Jørgensdatter's (housewife of Andreas Tagesen) parents... I might have. Got no luck on Catrine Christensen Bech's grandparents.

Hi.

Yes, Andreas Ernst A. had the son Kristian Wensen Andreasen, who's son is Mogens Wenzel Andreasen, and his son is Henrik Wenzel Andreasen. Grandmother told me they work something with instruments.
Wouldn't surprised me that Mogens W. did something with the radio.
I tried googling Mogens Wensel Andreasen, he looks extreemely similar to his grandfather Andreas Ernst Andreasen.

Edit: Now that I google him again, he actually looks like Catrine in looks, but facial hair and hair is like Andreas's.

Sincerely, Kristján.

Hi Kristjan,

Here is the family in the 1890 census.  Notice that Søren Christensen is not with them but he is in the Tillægsliste B at the address.  The 1880 census is opslag 9.  Perhaps someone else can figure out where Søren was born.  The 1890 census is opslag 10, 11, and 12.

Hi Kristjan,

I went through the 1901 census for Krønge and the family was not listed.  They must have moved.

Sincerely,
Paul

Hi Paul. Thanks for your help!

I tried looking at the census myself, I've started to get more familiar with this, but I can not handle this handwriting :P

You said you did not know where Søren was born? (if I understood correctly), but wouldn't that be Randers Amt.? I can not see anything specific though in the census about his birth location.

This does mean, if one is really ambitious to find him, one would have to look in every churchbook from Randers Amt. around 1840....?

Also, could there be a reason to why the children have the Bech name but parents do not?

Sincerely, Kristján.

It won't be easy to find Søren Christensen and Louise Magnidotter. I found her Swedish patronym at the birth of Thorvald Christensen Beck 23 Mar. 1886 (Fuglse, Fuglse, Maribo 1879-1891, opslag 42, No 8).
Thorvald was baptized in Olstrup church (Olstrup, Fuglse, Maribo 1871-1886, opslag 18), as the parents had moved to Assenbølle before the baptism.

Søren and Louise were married before the birth of Magnus Christensen Beck 5 Aug. 1875 (Krønge, Fuglse, Maribo 1870-1891, opslag 10, No 8).

The 1890 census gives neither age nor birth place for Søren, and the place where he is staying temporarily, is unknown:

Source:    FT-1890
Name:    Søren Christensen   Sex:    M
Position in household:    Husfader   Marital status:    Gift
Occupation:    Teilverksarb.
Parish:    Krønge   District:    Fuglse
County:    Maribo   Place name:    Krønge
Religion:    udbekjent
Comments:    Midlertidige opholdssted: udbekjent / Er betegnet: Husleier

That leaves us, so far, with the 1880 census: AO, Folketællinger, Landsogn, 1880, Krønge, opslag 9. I cannot make sense of the birth places mentioned for Søren (except Randers Amt) and Louise (except Sverige). He should be born around 1847, she around 1846.

Katrine is working as a servant girl in Næsbyhoved Broby parish at the census 1 Feb. 1901:

Odense, Odense, Næsbyhoved Broby, Næsbyhoved Broby, 9g, 18, FT-1901, C4185
Name:    Age:    Marital status:      Pos. in household:      Occupation:      Birth place:
Lars Sørensen    4 jul 1852    Gift    Husfader    Gaardejer    Drigstrup Odense
Vilhelmine Sørensen f. Christiansen    3 apr 1868    Gift    Husmoder       Herrested Svendborg
Vaborg Kirstine Sørensen    16 apr 1888    Ugift    Barn       Næsbyhoved Broby Odense
Ingeborg Sørensen    25 jul 1890    Ugift    Barn       Næsbyhoved Broby Odense
Anna Louise Sørensen    14 maj 1896    Ugift    Barn       Næsbyhoved Broby Odense
Kjersten Johanne Sørensen    29 sep 1900    Ugift    Barn       Næsbyhoved Broby Odense
Johannes Davisen    31 dec 1880    Ugift    Tjenstetyende       Asperup Odense
Hans P. Julius Kristensen    14 jul 1885    Ugift    Tjenstetyende       Odense Odense
Katrine Kristensen Bek    20 feb 1877    Ugift    Tjenstetyende       Ryde Maribo
Anna Johanne Madsen    10 aug 1884    Ugift    Tjenstetyende       Lumby Odense

Andreas and their son are living with his parents:

Odense, Bjerge, Agedrup, Vester Kærby, 39b, 37, FT-1901, C6550
Name:    Age:    Marital status:      Pos. in household:      Occupation:      Birth place:
Jørgen Andersen    21. December 1840    Gift    Husfader    Murer, Husejer    Agedrup S, Odense A
Anna Eriksen    2. Oktober 1839    Gift    Husmoder       Munkebo S, Odense A
Andreas Ernst Andersen    24. August 1874    Ugift    Barn    Murersvend    Agedrup S, Odense
Hans Erik Andreasen    11. Juni 1879    Ugift    Barn    Murersvend    Agedrup S, Odense
Kristian Venzel Andreasen    29. Marts 1899    Ugift    Slægtning       Agedrup S, Odense

Kristian Wenzel was born 29 Mar. 1899 (Agedrup, Bjerge, Odense 1892-1920, opslag 12, No 4).

At Andreas' and Katrine's marriage in July 1901, there is no info about the parents' place of residence in 1901.

As for the name Bek or Beck, it could have its origin in either the father's or the mother's family.

I found this police register card for Andreas and Katrine:

http://www.politietsregisterblade.dk/component/sfup/?controller=politregisterblade&task=viewRegisterblad&id=1501883&searchname=polit_adv

From 1903 to 1921 the family lived in Frederiksberg, so no adresses on the card from that period.

The family in the 1921 census: AO, Folketællinger, 1921, København, Pomonavej [No 14], opslag 21-22.

Andreas owns the house, and his sister Ane Kirstine (in Cph since 1903) and his mother Anne (in Cph since 1921)
are living with the family.

Best regards,
Inger T.

Sorry for being away.
Hi Inge.

It looks like I've got a lot of work ahead of me. Any idea where one could access the Swedish church records? Finding Louise will be very hard I guess.

I have a lot of thinking ahead, but first must sort out some stuff with school before I can really dig in the church records.

Thank you for your help!
I'll post if I find anything, if you'll be interested.

Sincerely, Kristján.
