Was Kong left out of the census after 1900 or joined with another village?  Jan

It seems that you cannot go directly from Stedbetegnelse: Landsogn to Sogn on http://www.sa.dk/content/dk/ao-forside/find_folketallinger, but have to choose either Amt or Herred (or both) before choosing Sogn:

Folketællinger
Årgang
Stedbetegnelse
Amt
Herred
Sogn

I tried this for FT-1901 and FT-1911, Landsogn, Præstø, Hammer, Køng.

You can check which censuses have been transcribed here:

http://www.dis-danmark.dk/kipkort/fronta-e.php

You find the transcribed censuses FT-1906 and FT-1916 for Køng in Præstø county at http://ddd.dda.dk/dddform_uk.asp.

Much thanks, Inga.  I hope you knew I meant "Kong" not "King".  Oops!  But thank you so much. Jan

Do you have a lot of ancestors from Kong?  I have an ancestor from there named Rasmus Olsen.  Born 1771 in Kong but died 1831 in Sonder Broby.  Going backwards from him I have a few generations in Kong.  Maybe we have a common ancestor?
Research areas of interest:
Hjarup / Vamdrup / Sonder Broby / Taps/ Vantinge

Gammel Rye / Them/ Vrads

Hi Erik

There are 2 places with the name Køng. As far as I remember your ancestors in Køng are in Køng in Båg herred on Fyn.

My best regards
Ole

Hej.

I thought you ment Köng, - (Præstø) meaning "The Iland of the Priests" - named by the King Erik the 7.  of Pommern - but is may be Kong.
