In the record of the death of Jørgen Jørgensen in 1681 in Barløse, Båg, Odense, opslag 76, does it tell what Jørgen's occupation was?  Mange tak.

Hi Paul

It only says, that he was in his 73. year.
The note afterwards tells about the text used from the Bible, Gen.48.21

Looking back to the beginning of the book his 1 wife Karen seems to have got buried 11.dec 1659 and
he then marries again in 1660 (but not in Barløse), because he get a son Lauritz bp 29.sep 1661 and a daughter
Karen (named after his 1.wife) bp 28.jun 1663. And during these years and later he is very often seen as witness at baptisms,
so I think he probably was a farmer on one of the bigger farms in Barløse.

Tusind tak Ole.  I think that he had some high position with the Brahe estate but I have no direct proof, only circumstantial evidence from a usually reliable booklet from the 1910s.
