I'm looking for a birth record for a Mette Marie Nielsdatter born around 1836 in Røved, Aarhus as per the following 1880 census record:

I found an 1840 census record as follows & am wondering if Røved is a town in the Hadsten Parish in Aarhus & if this would be the same Mette Marie Nielsdatter I am looking for:

I then found a birth record in Hadsten, Sabro, Aarhus, 1814-1843, Opslag 36, the 3rd record.  Unfortunately this record is so light it is almost unreadable.  I think I can see that on Feb 27, 1834, Mette Marie Nielsdatter was born.  Can someone please help me decipher who the parents are?  I'm hoping that the parents are Rasmus Sørensen & Karen Pedersdatter.  If so, that would make the mother, Karen Pedersdatter, 60 years old when she had Mette Marie Nielsdatter as per the above census record!  Thank-you.

The mother is Ane Rasmusdatter (not married), and the designated father is Niels Sørensen Halling (bachelor).
Consequently, Rasmus Sørensen and Karen Pedersdatter are Mette Marie's maternal grandparents.

I think the birth place notation in the 1880 census, "Røved, Aarhus" is misleading.  According to Krabsen's database, Røved is a village in Ødum parish of Randers amt.  Since it is on the border of Randers with Aarhus amt, it easily could have been considered part of Aarhus amt at some time, or perhaps the census taker "thought" it was....

At any rate, you will find a birth/christening entry for Mette Marie Nielsen in the Ødum, Galten, Randers kirkebog 1814-1843, opslag 106, born 19 Dec 1835 and christened 20 Mar 1836, parents Niels Mogensen and Maren Jensdatter residing at "Røve".

Before the 1840 census, they must have moved north to Fausing parish (where the married Mette Marie later lives) and the family is found in both the 1840 and 1850 census:
