Greetings to all from wet Seattle, Washington...
Would someone please read the following record for me.
Karrebæk, Øster Flakkebjerg, Søro...1693 - 1813...Ops. 112 #25 & #26.

I'm interested in what it says in the left column under 25 & 26 and the two words following the
fathers name...Thank you in advance for any help.
Mvh,
Bill Petersen

I read:

25.26 D: *6te Januarj 1740
Confirm: hiemme-daab for Tvill:
Dr: barn kaldet Hendrich
Pigebarn kald: Birthe.
Blef fød d 27. Decembri

Faderen Niels Jen af §Maltg: i Rappenbor.. S:
Moderens Nafn Maren Hansdatter

*Looks like 8, but then should be ottende, so I'm leaning toward sjette, particularly since that is Epiphany.
§Maltgaard must have been under the same manor as a portion of Karrebæk, but Rappenborg doesn't register as a parish.

Thanks Ralph...
I did notice that in the Baptism records of other children, that he had added to his name;
"Maltgriorer"...I couldn't find a translation with my translation program.
Thanks again for your help.
Mvh,
Bill

Hi Bill,

Maltgører (malt maker/producer), a person who as a trade is producing malt. Many farmers were malt makers, both making it of their own as well as bought barley.

This is from: http://ordnet.dk/ods/ordbog?aselect=Maltg%C3%B8rer&query=Malt-fj%C3%A6l

Thanks Lissa...
I thought it would be something like that.
Great translation/Dictionary program...I'll try copying it.
Thanks again.

Bill
