All your inquiries seem to be related to Norway and not Denmark.  I'm afraid you picked a wrong forum ;)

You'll find the Norwegian genealogical forum on this address: http://www.disnorge.no/slektsforum/index.php?language=engelsk

Hi Norma, I searched Ancestry.com for the immigration records you mention for Hans, Amund, and Bernt. I did not find the records you found. Did you use a different database? I did find a number of immigration records for Hans Andersen born about 1852 in Norway; it is a common name.

I looked at some of the census records (FT) you posted. For example, there is a Hans Andersen in St. Croix County, Wisconsin, born 1852, immigrated 1872, but the records I looked at have him born in Denmark. In some cases the year born varies from census to census, so one cannot be sure of the identity from that. I also found additional census records for people of similar name and age. Nowhere did I see the three brothers together: Hans, Amund, Bernt. If we could find three together with those names and those birth years, that would be a good clue to their identity. It seems they did not live in the same area.

In other words, in a quick search, it is very difficult to tell which person is the right one, especially given the mistakes and variations in records, and the way an immigrant's name can change in the USA.

Perhaps another person in this forum will step in to help and have better luck.

As Karsten said, you may do better by posting in another forum. You could try GenForum (http://genforum.genealogy.com), perhaps on the Minnesota thread for GenForum: (http://genforum.genealogy.com/mn/)

Another option is the Ancestry.com Message Boards.

You seem to have looked at all the US Census (FT) records you posted, is that right?  Would be helpful if you would post the year of immigration, occupation, and home country for each record, and wife's name, and children, so we can better see who is who (as long as you have access to look at the records).

You also seem to have checked to see if the brothers returned to Norway. That was a good idea.
