Hello Bill

This might not be what you want, but Rasmus Frederiksen can be found in Family Search under the Beta Search. The names of his parents are listed there.

Good luck.

Hi Bill,

When you go to www.familysearch.org you just click either of the 2 sentences on top of the page "Try out the FamilySearch Beta" or "go to the beta site".

Could you tell us his birth date and his parents' names?

Found it: He is born 27 April 1863 - bapt. 25 May 1863 - parents: smallholder på Bøllesminde Frederik Rasmussen (I think!!) and wife Kirstine Kristiansdatter, 33 years old.

Emilie Schebye at Bøllesminde - she must be the godmother
The rest is difficult to read.

You will find a marriage of Frederik Rasmussen and Ane Kirstine Christiansdatter on 25 May 1863 (same day as the baptism of Rasmus) - opslag No. 236 (1855-1869) in Stokkemarke. Could be the parents. They are both at Bøllesminde (you can google this farm).

The marriage also gives a bit more info. So now to find their births.

Take a look at opslag 126 (1820-1834) Stokkemarke. There is an Ane Kirstine Christiansdatter born 2 Feb 1829 to Christian Jørgensen, smallholder in Stokkemarke, and Dorte (?) ????datter,

and

also take a look at a confirmation in Stokkemarke, opslag 125 (1834-1845), Ane Kirstine Christiansdatter, father Christian Jørgensen and deceased mother Dorte ???datter. Confirmed 1st Sunday after Easter.

I think this is the family in 1834:

maribo, Lollands Sønder, Stokkemarke, Kjeldernæs Bye, et Huus, , 28, FT-1834, B7419
Navn: Alder: Civilstand: Stilling i husstanden: Erhverv: Fødested:
Hans Sørensen 43  Gift  Dagleier og Inderste
Maren Larsdatter 40  Gift  hans Kone
Lars Hansen 11  Ugift  deres Barn
Hans Hansen 6  Ugift  deres Barn
Dorthe Hansdatter 13  Ugift  deres Barn
Christjan Jørgensen 29  Gift  Dagleier og Inderste
Dorthe Hingsesdatter 28  Gift  hans Kone
Kirstine Christjansdatter 5  Ugift  deres Barn

You will find the marriage of Christian Jørgensen and Dorte Hingesdatter (?) on 7 Nov 1829 in Stokkemarke, opslag 209 (1820-1834).

Hi Bill,

Have you found this: http://boards.ancestry.com/thread.aspx?mv=flat&m=9162&p=localities.scan-balt.denmark.general - a.o. (by Flemming Aasklint):

"Frederik Rasmussen
born 30 october 1826 in Søllested Parish,Lolland Sønder District, Maribo County
baptized 3 december 1826 in Søllested Church
died 7 july 1866 in Stokkemarke Parish
buried 11 july 1866 in Stokkemarke Parish
Parents: Rasmus Frederiksen and wife Dorthe Pedersdatter

Married 25 may 1863 in Stokkemarke Parish to

Ane Kirstine Christiansdatter( the correct name of Rasmus Frederiksens mother)
born 2 february 1830 in Stokkemarke Parish
baptized 12 april 1830 in Stokkemarke Church
Parents: Christian Jørgensen and wife Dorthe Hingesdatter.

--

Rasmus Frederiksen is the only child in this marriage,
however he has a halfbrother:

Hans Christian Christiansen
born 7 february 1860 in Stokkemarke Parish
baptized 6 april 1860 in Stokkemarke Church
Mother: unmarried girl Ane Kirstine Christiansdatter
Alleged father: Hans Olsen in Stokkemarke.

--

In the 1870 census Ane Kirstine Christiansdatter
and her two sons live in the poorhosue in Stokkemarke.

The family seems to disappear from Stokkemarke Parish
between 1877,when Rasmus Frederiksen is confirmated and
the 1880 census, where they can't be found.

I don't know where they went".

Hi again Lissa,
Once again thank you for all of the effort you have put into this search.
I can't prove it but it is rumored that the two boys came to USA in 1882.
Thanks again.

Hi Bill,

Did you know about the site I gave you? Seems as if it's a recent posting.

Have you searched Ellis Island. I cannot find the boys in the Danish emigration records.

Hi Lissa,
No I haven't seen that site before.
I don't use
Ancestry.com...but appears I should subscribe.
thanks, Bill

Lissa Pedersen

I wrote a message to the person, Kate, "behind" the posting, and also sent her an email. Did you read everything in the messages? It seems, as if she is related to Rasmus, and she talked about a family bible, in which he is mentioned.

I could post a message on the board for free. I do not subscribe to Ancestry.
