Occupation translation

Back on July 20, 2010 I asked for a 1826 marriage translation for my 3x Great-grandfather Georg Ludwig Theodor Becker and Mathilde Beate Frederikke Olsen.  I was told that Georg's occupation was "Futheralmagersvend".  I never asked what that was.  I would greatly appreciate it if someone could tell me what he did for a living. 

I have also seen it written "Foutteralmager", Futtnalmager, Fontmalmagner???

I think it must be some sort of an instrument case: for glasses or knives as exemples.

The "modern" Danish word is "futteralmager" - and a futteral = a case.

A case maker made cases small or larger for storaging different instruments, for example spectacles or surgical instruments - or any kind of instruments, so that they would not be damaged for example by transportation.

He makes cases - for watches, jewelery, instruments or weapons.
"Futteral" or "Foderal" is the same word, and it means "a case for keeping fragile things in"
