I am looking for any information on Chris Larsen.  What I know is that he was born in Denmark on January 17, 1887.  His death certificate from Illinois, USA states that his birthplace was Solland?
Also on his death certificate are his parents as Lars Nulsen and Nettea Mulsen.  There are conflicting dates as to when he emmigrated to the US.  On the 1910 US census it says his immigration year was 1892.  Another census, however, says 1907.

I would deeply appreciate any help in finding any info on him.

Respectfully,
Ruth Becker Morenz

Hi Ruth,

He is Hans Christian Larsen on his 1917 draft card, and listed birthplace as Blande or Blaude, Denmark but I can't identify such a place.  Maybe our Danish readers will have an idea what it should be.  Solland could be a misreading of Lolland, as the old form of written L looked much like an S.

On the 1920 census he listed immigration year as 1904, in 1930 as 1903.

I am not sure I know what you mean by "use wild cards".  I do know that names are frequently mispelled, etc.  I have come across that a lot.

If you are using Ancestry, read the fine print about searches:  You can use an asterisk (*) for any number of letters, or a question mark(?) for a single letter.  For example, you can use lars?n to get both spellings Larsen and Larson.  And Chr* will get you Christian, Christen, etc.  But you must use a minimum of three letters.
