Maybe this is Maren leaving Sem in 1869, her age is given as 16, which is 1 too high.  opslag 140.  But I cannot read what the destination is.

Hi Karen,

Could perhaps be NORUP?

As soon as I get a chance, I will check all the ones ending in "op" :-)

Hi Karen - I would guess you have seen this online tree with your family members. Maybe it can help forum members as a visual aid.

I have been reading along when I can and learning a lot.

Hej, Jane,

Looking at the url, see that I have crossed paths with the fellow who has done that tree, but I have not had time to look at his data carefully.  I am a bit extra careful about incorporating info into my records until I have seen the records with my own eyes :-)

I did email him but he is hard to reach.  I see that he has gone back a generation or so further than I have been able to, but we both came up empty with the same three of my great grandmother's siblings.  On the other hand I know a bit further down in the tree, where people have moved to the U.S.

Perhaps now that ark has more information online, I will be able to trace those sibs.  I did email the Copenhagen lokalarkiv to see about access to the civil marriage record for Maren/Marie.

Mange tak,

Karen

Hot dog.  The Copenhagen lokal arkiv folks kindly sent me Maren/Marie's wedding registry.  name: Maren, birth date: Maren's, wedding date: Marie's, husband: Marie's.

I cannot read all of it, so I will ask for help in a bit.  On my way out the door for an errand.

mvh,

Karen

Here is the document:

I am wondering what these mean:

location: both here in what?

original and current religious: in the bridegroom's column, I see baptized and confirmed in the folk church and then something unintelligible in the current field.  Also, does the remark in Maren's/Marie's mean she is still attending church?

Is the next to the last field asking what religion any children born o fthis marriage will be raised in?  And is it saying the folk church?

Mange tak,

Karen

Hi Karen,

Hans Christian is not a (current) member of the Danish "folkekirke" - Maren/Marie is. Hans Christian was baptised and confirmed in the folkekirke. Children, if any, are to be raised in (?) the Danish "folkekirke".

Hope this clarifies?
