Hi,

Could someone please transcribe and translate this Michelsen-Krane marriage?

Kirke Såby, Voldborg, Roskilde, Kirke Såby - Kisserup 1771-1831
opslag 231, No. 6

It is on the right hand site, the third entry from the top.

Thanks very much!

Ralph,

Thank you for your efforts!
This may be a match for Mr. Fabrititus:
The 1801 census lists a Friderich Fabritius, 61, Hofjuveler

This may be him:

He might be the right fellow to be associated with the marriage of a goldsmith.

A quick Google search doesn't turn up anything associating Friderich Fabritius with the china factory. I will do more research tomorrow.

Thank you again for your help. It looks like my family is getting bigger! :-)

Re. Enkemand Kristopher Michelsen:

Ancestry.com transcribes the record this way (Ancestry records are very abbreviated):

Jokum Kristopher Michelsen marries Marie Krane
13 apr 1792 at Kirke Saaby, Kobenhavn, Denmark

Jane,
Thank you for the additional word!

At the time of marriage Jokum Kristopher Michelsen was a juweler and principal at Fabritius' factory in Kirke Saaby. Fabritius himself lived in Copenhagen and was among other things juweveler for the danish royal family.

The factory in Kirke Saaby produced different sorts of personal accessories, such as metal buttons, schoe buckles etc.

The factory resided here: https://map.krak.dk/m/eIMIu

The building standing today is actually the original factory building build in 1786.

An afterthough...

The text does not say that Marie Karne's brother Jonas Christian Krane worked for Fabritius.

Rather he worked at the royal porcelain factory in Copenhaven (still existing), where he at the time of the marriage worked as a clerk. However, in the 1787 census (https://www.danishfamilysearch.dk/cid443839) he is listed as a "dreyer" at the facory. The best word for this in English is probably "turner", i.e. he formed the various cups, plates etc. in a turning-table before they were painted/glazed and burnt.
