Would someone be so kind as to provide me with a Danish transcription and English translation of this writeup. My feeble attempt indicates there is information therein of importance, but I may be wrong. Either way I would be appreciative of obtaining the transcription and translation.

besværligt, men dog naturligt til

Liv var at mærke. Barnet var fuld-
baaren, men Død f? Dage før

blev anvendt for at bringe Bar-
net tillive, men forgjæves.
Moderen har ikke før født Børn.
Barnet var meget stærkt Strængbun-

There are a number of words I cannot decipher, hopefully, someone else can fill in the blanks. But the gist of the story is as follows:

The male foetus was born naturally, albeit with some trouble, but showed no signs of life. It was fully developed, but had died a number of days before the birth. All possible efforts were made to bring the child to life, but in vain. The mother had not previously given birth. Statement given by midwife Ane Dorothea ? from Gruurup.

Just to complete the translation based on Jørgen's more complete transcription:

The male foetus was born naturally, albeit with trouble, but absolutely no sign of life could be felt. The child was fully developed, but had died a few days before the birth; no reason for this could be determined. All possible efforts were made to bring the child to life, but in vain. The mother has not previously given birth. The child was very strongly 'strængbunden'*. Thus given up on by the examinating midwife Ane Dorothea Früstüch in Gruurup.

*I can only guess that this has something to do with being strongly connected by the umbilical cord, but I have nothing to base this on.

And yes, at times it is heartbreaking to learn of the hardship our ancestors lived through.

The place name is not spelled Hundikjer in the parish register but HundsKjer.
Today it is spelled Hunskjær.
