In the 1801 census my widowed 5th-great-grandmother Else Nielsdatter at age 74 is living with her son Joseph Olsen and family in Karlstrup By and parish.  Other family trees indicate that she died in Karlstrup in 1808.  The only likely record I have found appears to just list the death of Joseph Olsen's mother with no name or age.  (1808 #6)

Given the circumstances does this seem like it's her?  Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Art

Hi Art.

Since Joseph Olsen is not that common a name, it must be her.
She probably had "aftægt" when living with her son, so most like no probate after her.

NB: It says "sognefoged Joseph Olsens moder". A "Sognefoged" in rural districts was appointed among the rural farmers for a minimum of 3 years, who had to maintain law and order and the morality of the local population.
