I have the birth entry for my 5th great aunt and uncle in 1696-1787 Sønderhaa-Hørsted Hassing Thisted img 44 right page 3rd entry from top

It is a set of twins: a son Jens and a daughter Dorethe

I have thus far the following:

og Anders Mortensen i ?? .. ??, Peder ??, og
Niels ??...??


Would someone please review, correct and complete my attempt at a transcription?

Here is my attempt:

og Anders Mortensön; Laust Rolighed, Peter i Rolighed, og
Niels Henrichsön Potlitz.

Some of the names appear and are more readable elsewhere on the same image.

Hopefully someone else will come along and give us the correct transcription.

hi Lisa,

it seems like you have pretty much all of it correct. I only have a few minor general corrections. The dots above y and o were just the way the letters were written, but are read y and ø. In most cases a colon should be read as a dot, so with the minor changes it looks like this:

I've also added a s in gyrup as it for me seems like there's an s at the end.

hi Lynn,

you're welcome. Gyrup was just a nickname (tilnavn), so it often gave information about a person's origin or profession. In this case a placename. Here's a bit of explanation in Danish:

I found a farm with the naming Gyrupgaard (gård = farm):

I also found another place called Gyrup, but it was on the island Funen (Fyn):

Nearby southeast og Gyrup there's a village called Hjadstrup. I don't know, if it's that place referred to in the church record, but it's close to the spelling Jalstrup. I think it's more likely that Gyrup is taken from a place nearby Sønderhå as people normally didn't move that far back in the days. I found a homepage with whisky in Thy, where Gyrup is mentioned and it seems like the Queen of Denmark has visited the place as there's a picture of her on the homepage:
