I am searching for the Birth/Christening entry for my 4th great grandfather Ole Christensen.
I have the following information:

Birth: an approximate Birth of around 1718 calculated from his age at the time of Death. I am assuming the Hundborg area as that is where he was married and died

Marriage: he was engaged to Maren Jensdatter on 4 Jul 1758 in Hundborg, Hundborg, Thisted and married the following 28th of September, 1758 The entry for this is at 1715-1786 Hundborg, Hundborg, Thisted image 128 entry page 125 entry 1758 #2

His Death/Burial was on 8 Jul 1763 located at 1715-1786 Jannerup Hundborg Thisted img 206 pg 220-1763-#3

Num 3--d: 8dn Jul: blev Ole Christensen af Jannerup begravenet i Jannerup
kirkegaard, gammel 45 aar, 4 maaneder og 7 dagn.[/url]

Based on his age at death and death year it would put his Birth about 1718. I have looked at both Hundborg and Jannerup records for several years aroung the time but I have been unable to locate any Birth/Christening entry.

If anyone might know where I can look further I would appreciate the feedback

BTW: the death of his son is recorded there also as entry #1

Thank you

Hi Lynn,

I think you may want to search a bit further away as well:

At the wedding it says (as far as I can read) "Ole Christensen, som tiente paa Ulfstrup" = "Ole Christensen, who served at Ulfstrup", and the use of "på/at" instead of "i/in" indicates that it's a specific large farm/manor house and not just any ordinary farm in any ordinary village. Ulfstrup is an old form of Ulstrup, see https://www.danskeherregaarde.dk/nutid/ulstrup-nordjylland.

Serving at a manor house may have attracted people not just from the nearest villages, but also from parishes a bit further away, and there is no indication that Ole Christensen was originally from Hundborg or Jannerup.

Kind regards,
Anne Mette
