I've had no luck figuring out the church date for the baptism of Jens Jensen's son Niels in 1783 in the Malt parish, Ribe Amt.  It looks like it is the first baptism in the Malt parish in 1783.  I'd appreciate if someone more experienced could try.

Mange tak Inge!

These are 3rd and 4th great-grandfathers.  You helpers are great!  Even with your transcription, it is difficult for me to make it out.

It's certainly not easy to read, but the previous date in Malt is Feria 2da Nativitatis (dec.26), so it must be New years day -

... Aarsdagen hafde Jens Jensen i Askov en Søn
Niels til Daaben. Fadderne Jens Skovfoged, Chri-
sten Just, Otte Tonnesen, Christen Justes Kone
Friderich Godskiær?, Niels Møllers Kone bar
Barnet. Moderen Ingeborg blev jordet same Dag.

So the mother Ingeborg was buried the same day.

Wow, thank you for catching that about Ingeborg.  I'll have to do some more digging, as I have Kirsten Christensdatter being Jens Jensen's spouse.

Ah, the 1787 census shows Jens Jensen married to Kirsten Christensdatter and Niels as the child from his first marriage (along with a sister) and a child from his new wife.

Ole,

Thanks for locating the marriage record for Jens and Ingeborg.  That will save me some effort!  These little glimpses of their lives makes them a little bit more real to me.

Could somebody try to read the last entry for Malt parish on this age (bottom of left column on right side page)?

Ole,

I really appreciate your extra help!  It looks like a fairly extensive estate inventory when Ingeborg died.
