How do I get to 'Lægdsruller 1799-1864' online?

Would that be the only records online for an Enroul Matros who possiby served in the Royal Navy between about 1770 to 1800 and lived in København?

Hi Roger

The most reliable and easiest to use records of the Danish Navy are the Divisionsbøger (Lists of staff). You should register as user in www.sa.dk, "Search the database Daisy", and use the following input: Arkivskaber: Chefen for orlog, Arkivserie: Divisions, Periode: 1770 - 1800. You will then get a list of materials, most are on line. The most useful are Divisionsbøger for 1. Division (respectively 2nd, 3rd and 4th). They all have an alphabetic index (Christian name, not Family name, so you should look under S for Søren). If you search for a rather common name combination, like Søren Nielsen, you will probably get many finds. The origin of the different seamen is often written in the protocol, so if you are lucky, you will find the information that he originates from Aabenraa (or Slesvig, which is the province where Aabenraa is located).

Good luck!
Kind regards

Mange Tak!

Will try your advice.  I've needed some direction on that research for sometime now.  Have been going nowhere.
