Is there any meaning to the word "Roer"?

I have come across it as a location, but can not locate where it might be.

I have seen it used as an additive name, such as Jens Jensen Roer.

Here is my dilemma:

I have traced and documented my line back through my 4th Great Grandfather whose name is Jens Jensen, living in the Korsø, Hjardemål area. Several times his name is presented as Jens Jensen Korsø.

I had Family Search documented as such, but someone has changed it to Jens Jensen Roer. He has different parents, wife, and children.

I am trying to straighten this mix up out as it impacts and changes my line for several generations. I believe Jens Jensen Roer is incorrect although those who made the changes used the same documented data that I submitted justifying Jens Jensen Korsø.

I know that the additive name is not used in every situation, and have located multiple Jens Jensens in the Hjardemål/Hundstrup area.

If, you have any insight as to what "Roer" might refer to I would appreciate your help

Thank you.

Roer was also the name of a farm in Hjardemål parish. Land Register # 14 in Hjardemål Klit. https://hkpn.gst.dk/mapviewer.aspx?type=sognekort&id=1775&elav=null Roergaard.

Thank you for the input.

I was able to locate Roer and in relationship to Korsø they are not that far apart.

Now to evaluate Jens Jensen Korsø verses Jens Jensen Roer...
