Is there a location/website that one can access that will give the OLD names and the NEW names of towns/villages?

Or an indication that the location no longer exists.

I am finding names of locations that I cannot find on a map.

Thank you.

What names?

digdag.dk might be of use, it has old names for new names.

To search Tarp try Google search: <name> trap runeberg e.g. borum trap runeberg. This will most likely give you the Trap Denmark page for that town. Runeberg(.org) is the site with a copy of Trap Danmark.

It may be difficult to find such a site, also because the spelling of a location depends on the writer.

A possibility is https://archive.org/search.php?query=trap%20danmark
where you can read different editions of Trap Danmark and also search inside them.

And these books contain very old spellings of locations etc. besides the new spellings.
You can try it.
