The baptism entry has          Moderen (this is mother isnt it) ??

Blacksmith Christian Thingsgaard and his wife Jensine Thingsgaard of Holstebro

Context--- is the mother mentioned due to lack of attendees or ????

I hope you understand what I am trying to ask

Hi Paul,

Sure, it's the mother. Not necesssaily for lack of other attendees or sponsors, I think, but because the mother herself wanted to "carry" the child, Traditionally, the woman who carries the baby is mentioned along with trhe sponsors.
