Is it possible for foreigners to access the CPR personal register? If so, how?
Google translations of the website are confusing.

As a general rule of thumb, no privat person can access the content of the CPR register. Public authorities have access, and private companies can buy data subject to certain rules.

It is possible to approach a municipial office with a request for information from the CPR regarding a specific person for which you have identification (name and date of birth) and then get said person's place of residence, or last place of residence before death or emigration together with this date. This costs 52 DKK.

Thank you Lars,
does this have to happen in person, or can it be done by email? What are the contact details of a municipal office for Copenhagen?
Kind regards,
Donald

Donald,
This is the adress in Copenhagen. Being foreigners as we both are there is a slight problem, namely the payment. Danish authorities do not accept foreign VISA credit card, only Danish bank cards.
Write to them sometimes they are kind enough to give you the information without charge, but not always.
