Your translation is mostly correct, but døbt means baptized.
There were two with the name Hans Nielsen and to distinguish one was called "den ældre" (the older) and the other "den yngre" (the younger).

Thank you so much I have just been catching up with transferring all the information into my records and came across Hans Nielsen the elder and was about to ask over the forum whether this meant a religious elder or as you have just done for me the elder of two people with the same name. This forum is fantastic I have learn t so much thank you to you wonderful people out there.
