I am trying to find the parish record of the marriage of my 3rd great grandparents, Kirsten Pedersdatter and Thorkild (Thorchild) Nielsen.
Thorchild Nielsen's first wife, Mette Michaelsdatter, died 1 May 1814 Præstø, Bårse, Snesere, Aaside.

On 3 April 1815 Præstø, Bårse, Snesere, Aaside a daughter, Mette Marie, was born to Kirsten Pedersdatter and Thorchild Nielsen.

So somewhere between May 1814 and April 1815 there should be a parish marriage record for Thorchild Nielsen and Kirsten Pedersdatter. I have not been able to find that record. I have looked several times in the parish records for Snesere and I also looked in the surrounding parishes (Præstø, Bårse, Hammer, Mogenstrup, Everdrup, Næstelsø and Kongsted) but have not been able to find any.
Thorkild Nielsen died 31 Oct 1831 Snesere.
Kirsten remarried 8 March 1833 Snesere to Niels Hansen. That entry lists her as the widow of Thorkild Nielsen.

Is it possible that their marriage was not recorded? Is there any other source other than parish records that would list the marriage? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
Paul Olesen
Hammer would have been the first best guess, based on what should be her birth parish.

Both the marriage and the preceding registration/application would have been recorded. If either one was recorded in the register used prior to 1814-1815, it may have been lost in a fire, as most parishes did not have a second copy kept in a different place. The old books from Køng are gone, for example. But in theory the new books there were started already in 1813.
It doesn't appear that their marriage has been captured by Family Search, always a back door to hard to locate records.
