I read:

d 24 Maii begravede Sandemand Hans Ipsens Hustrue
Kirsten Michels Daater, som døde i Barsels Seng
efter en Daater som levede og blev døbt sam͞e Dag.
bemeldte Sandemands Hustrue var gl 47 Aar.

May 24th, buried 'sandemand' Hans Ipsen's wife
Kirsten Michelsdatter, who died in childbirth
after giving birth to a daughter, who did live and was baptized on the day of her birth.
This man's wife was aged 47 years.

In each herred there were to be eight sandemænd whose duties were akin to that of a justice of the peace, and made up a sort of sitting grand jury from one ting until the next. (Danske Lov, bk I, chapter xvi)

For me it is a bit open, whether the burial was the same day as the birth.

Hej Ralph,

Thanks for your help with the transcription and translation.

I also appreciate the additional comments.  I was having difficulty getting an accurate translation / understanding of the word  "sandemand".

mvh,

David
