Hello. New on this forum.
My friend was discussing her late danish grandfather, who she knew not much about. I have been trying to search for her information about him but to no avail. Now I'm coming to you guys for search. I do not know much about this forum, but reading other posts I will try to copy them and do it similarly.
His name was:
Gunnar Wille Götze. Most likely born in 1892, and born somewhere in København. He moved to Iceland for some time but returned later to Denmark in 1924/5 and joined the army, where he died.
This is all she knew, and doing danish genealogy searches myself I know this is not very good information. But I haven't been able to find anything about him last two weeks and now I decided to ask you guys for help. Want to trace his ancestry few generations back.
He had a German (and lived there) paternal grandfather, a skredder, Götze.
Sorry for not having more information.
Mvh,
Iohannes

Familysearch knows a son born 2.3.1839 and 26.5.baptized 1839
Find the baptizm in København Skt. Petri F 1830-1841 opslag 193
I can't read the comment on when the parents married, but I guess it's the 27th May 1839? in Trinitatis?
Inger Buchard
The birth and baptism is also seen here: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1971-33443-14774-24?cc=2078555&wc=M5VJ-3TT:357517801,357517802,360764201,360802601
Parents married 29 Jul. 1836 in Trinitatis Church.
The family is here in the 1840 census:
København, København (Staden), Sankt Annæ Vester Kvarter, Hjortelængen, Huuset nr. 157, 1. Sal, 154 F3, FT-1840, C5130
Name: Age: Marital status: Position in household: Occupation:
David Gjøtz 32 Gift Skrædersvend
Rosine Johansen 23 Gift hans Kone
Emma Gjøtz 3 Ugift deres Datter
Joachim Gjøtz 1 Ugift deres Søn
- and this is probably David Gøtze's (or Görtz) wife-to-be:
København, København (Staden), Sankt Annæ Vester Kvarter, , Borgergade 172,3.Sal, 4, FT-1834, C5734
Name: Age: Marital status: Position in household: Occupation:
Erents Johansen 26 Gift Skræder Svend
Karen Marie Jacobsen 28 Gift hans Kone
Rosine Johansen 17 Ugift en Søster til Johansen
Erens Johansen 1 Ugift Barn
Most of the 1834 census for the city of Copenhagen has been lost, so David may be in Copenhagen already in 1834.
Maybe you can find information about him in Verzeichnisse der Mitglieder... :

Hi Inge!
You are very helpful indeed.
I am sorry I can't give a better answer, I will ask my friend what this looks like to her.
But this is really great work so far Inge. It's a wonder why I couldn't find them.
Mvh.

Hi again,
Gunnar Villy Gøtze's baptism 9 Oct. 1898 is recorded in Sundby, Sokkelund, København 1898-1899,
Opslag 60, No 277c.
But he was born 25 May 1898 in Copenhagen, Viborggade 17, 4th floor!
His birth is recorded in Sion, Sokkelund, København 1896-1903, Opslag 75, No 90.
Venlig hilsen
Inger T.
Hey
Amazing information.
Everything was correct, everything. I guess I misunderstood and thought the grandfather of Villy was German, but it was his great-grandfather. I wonder where one can find more about the german people. I assume they have some forum like this as well... maybe.
Thank you very much Inger. Would you happen to know if the Politietsregisterblade things are filled by the person himself? I.e. this is Villy's handwriting there we see? Would be very good to know.
You have given me a good jumpstart now. I hope I can make some sense of this myself, otherwise I will come crawling back : )
Thanks you.
Mvh.
