Titel: Help with Peter Madsen Mortensen family
Indlæg af: Michael Mortensen Dato 07 Jan 2011 - 19:06
I am trying to get more information about the children of Peder Madsen Mortensen and Laurine Nielsen Mortensen. They were married in Copenhagen (St. Paul's Church) on Nov. 27, 1863, and the church register shows the births and baptisms of their first two daughters (Hilda [unsure of name because of handwriting] Elinora in 1863 and Dagmar in 1864). The 1885 census shows Peder and Laurine with seven children, but not Hilda or Dagmar. However when I go to the St. Paul's register I have so far found no entries of baptisms or confirmations of these seven children. The 1885 census shows the family living at "København, København (Staden), Østerbrogade (ulige numre), Udb.Klædebo Kvarter, , Østerbrogade 57,Lægeforen.Bolig Litra O Stue, 9."
Would that be in a different parish? Any ideas where I can look for further documentation of their births, confirmations, marriages or deaths.
Many thanks,
Michael (Mike) Mortensen (great-great-nephew of Peder and Laurine)

Hi Michael,

Yes, you might have better luck if you search in Skt Johannes Parish, Copenhagen, a new parish in the 1860s.

Good luck!
