I'm looking for the marriage of Peder (Nicolai) Nielsen Møller who was the parish dean of Søllerød in 1771 and then in Kongens Lyngby from 1778-1803. His wife was Bodil Mogensdatter.

I have four children, but have only found one christening record.

Peder Møller was born 5 Nov 1735 in Skaelskør, Sorø. His parents were Niels Møller and Maren Larsdatter.

Peder had 4 children:
Anders born about 1765 who knows where (I've looked quickly at Søllerød)
Ane Kirstine born about  1768
Hans born about 1777 (there are probably more children?)
Cathrine Sophie christened 27 Sep 1781 in Kongens Lyngby.

Peder died 15 sep 1803 in Kongens Lyngby.
Bodil died 19 apr 1800 also in Kongens Lyngby

I have (probably) found him in the 1771 special census--Møller dean at Søllerød. And in the 1787 and 1801 census in Lyngby (all in Copenhagen).

Christina

(Yes, I've posted him before on the old list at: http://www.dis-danmark.dk/forum/read.php?11,559706 ) Peder's birth info comes from another researcher, Henning Lahrmann.

>Peder (Nicolai) Nielsen Møller who was the parish dean of Søllerød in 1771

I don't think he was parish dean in Søllerød, that was a
   Nicolai Gottschalck Müller.

He married 29 february 1764 in Alsted Parish, Alsted District, Sorø County
  to Bodil Mogensdatter.

Translation is such a joy.  I think degn probably should be parish clerk, literally 'deacon'.

As to Møller's movements, Anders does not seem to have been confirmed at Lyngby, but Ane Kirstine is listed for 1782, age 15 1/2, opslag 245 of 1641-1806.

Thank you for the info on the Søllerød dean, I will remove this as a clue. And even more thanks for finding the marriage.

Thank you,

Christina

(PS I really do need to remember to look for confirmation records when I lose a family)

I have gone to the AO records for Alsted/Fjenneslev, Sorø 1761-1804 (the marriage is on opslag 65). Peder was a deacon here too. Least that's what I read. Or maybe he wasn't. I've looked through the 1770 births and not found any records of any children.

Could someone translate this for me. It's the second record on the left hand side.

Thanks,

Christina

Thanks again. Beber=Peder by the way.

I have the corrections to the family

Peder Møller was probably born about 1734 in Størpinge--which the AO doesn't have the records prior to 1739. That's where his father was parish priest at the time.

Peder's parents were Anders Pedersen Møller and Kirsten Nielsdatter. They married in Skaelskør on 14 Jun 1734.

I really appreciate the help.

Peder Nielsen Møller would be the son of Niels Møller, not Andreas.

The same page as Anders Møllers marriage there is a Niels Matthiesen Møller married at Skælskør, but I read his occupation as 'kleinsmed'.

But since you now know that Niels Møller was pastor at some time at Alsted or Fiennetslev, you may be able to track the father's movements in Wiberg.

I relied a bit too much on your original entry, 'Nielsen'.

Wiberg has Peder's father either as Anders Pedersen or Anders Paludan Møller, born 26 January 1702 in Skælskør.  He was called to Skørpinge in November 1733.  Wiberg has him married 25 June 1734, the same as the entry in Skælskør.

Oops

That Wiberg entry leads to the top right of opslag 32 in Skælskør 1689-1760, Anders as the son of Peder Andersen Møller and Anne Jensdatter.

That's interesting, in my post where I say Beber =PEder, I thought I'd written that I'd been to Wiberg's...I really thought I had.

Well, again thank you so much.

Although that makes him no young man when Anders Pedersen Møller was born, shouldn't the Peder Andersen Møller buried 28 August 1717 be the father in 1702?

Peder Andersen Møller, Skælskør 1689-1760, opslag 207, making his birth about 1650.  He could evidently send his son to further schooling and have something left for a 'better' burial.
