Is there a document or are there maps that that can be searched that can provide the locations of Danish farms?
How did various "Gaards/Holms" get named?
Thanks.
Can you link to the place, where you found this farm name.

Others will have better information than me but if you have the place name you could always start here: https://ddd.dda.dk/dddform_uk.asp?sit=2 (https://ddd.dda.dk/dddform_uk.asp?sit=2)
Hi Lynn :)
It´s not always easy to know how a farm got its name. Could be after the place it is situated, the occupation of a resident, what is grown on the farm etc.
To find the history of a certain area/farm you can check out Trap Denmark but you need to know the area where the farm is at. For example http://runeberg.org/trap/3-4/0241.html
Google Dansk Gårdhistorie and you´ll get some hits you might want to check out, as this one https://bibliotek.dis-danmark.dk/cgi-bin/koha/opac-detail.pl?biblionumber=35226
Kind Regards :)

hi Lynn,
there's a homepage with Danish manors, where you can see the locations on a map, but here you of course won't get all the small and medium-sized farms. Here's the link to that homepage:
https://www.danskeherregaarde.dk (https://www.danskeherregaarde.dk)
I searched for Danish farms on google.dk and found a homepage with a collection of Danish farms. Here you can find both small, medium-sized and large farms:
https://www.ronlev.dk/lokalhistoriske-boger/124-flere-amter/1691-danske-gaarde-af-j-c-b-la-cour.html (https://www.ronlev.dk/lokalhistoriske-boger/124-flere-amter/1691-danske-gaarde-af-j-c-b-la-cour.html)
On another homepage you can find the same collection with places and names indexed with cross-references to the page numbers:
http://softgen.dk/gaarde.htm (http://softgen.dk/gaarde.htm)
I hope you can use it.
Have a nice weekend :)
