Are the names Lauridsen and Larsen, one and the same?
I have located in the 1787 Census for Hvinningdal, Balle, Hids, Viborg http://www.danishfamilysearch.com/cid47538 (http://www.danishfamilysearch.com/cid47538) an entry for a Niels Larsen and wife Edel Sørensdatter and children.
I have located a Will Probate #105 for a Niels Lauridsen located at Vester Kejlstrup, Hids, Viborg http://balle-lokalhistorie.dk/skifteprotokol.html (http://balle-lokalhistorie.dk/skifteprotokol.html) having died 10 April 1802 in Balle Kirkeby, Balle, Hids, Viborg and Will Probated 11 December 1802 at Vester Kejstrup listing the same spouse and children.
In one instance the Surname is Larsen and in the other it is Lauridsen. Were they used interchangeably based on how the person making the entry heard or interpreted the spelling?
RIN 13353
Laurids, Laurits, Laurs, Lars, Laust all have the same root from the Saint Laurentius.
So the same person can be seen with a variety of these.
