First record I found is his confirmation in 1768, left column, near bottom

Second record found was marriage to Woldborg Chrestensdatter in 1782 (June or July), page 165

Third record was four children born to the couple, please note JUHL is part of 2nd ,3rd, and 4th childs name. Example below -

Seventh record is Anders Hansen's interesting death on 29 April 1822 in Orderup, Toftlund, Haderslev
(and right now I can't find it!!)
Please help me solve this JUUL clue. I think it must be a name associated with Anders and not his wives because children from both mothers have JUUL in their names. I've been working on this for a long time... and my 87 year old brain has apparently not functioning as it should. However, it hasn't lost it's ability to make me curious!!! Thanks to anybody who helps. Claude Anders Hanson

Christian: Could you translate into English the 1752 birth record for Anders Hansen that you sent.
Also, I found the interesting death record for Anders Hansen. Hopefully, it is below:
https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/61607/images/48622_62021000435_17365-00083?pId=617357052
Hi Claude
The birth in 1752 is a Karsten as the son of Detlev, and therefore it is not your Anders Hansen.
Your Anders Hansen does not appear to have been born in Toftlund.
If your Anders Hansen is dead on April 29, 1822, he was 70 years old, and then born 1752.

He was on his way home from Arnum, and was found dead in a ditch - it says in the church register.

Regarding "Juul" - then I can not help you. But in the past, he or his 2. wife could have been out of a Juul.
There are several genera Juul in Denmark.

Death of Woldborg, Anders Hansen's wife in Ørderup, at June 14, 1795 - age 38 years.

First child is Hans Christensen (after grandfather - fathers father) born January 22, 1783:
http://ao.salldata.dk/vis1.php?bsid=202698&side=97
Second child Christen Jensen (after mothers father) born September 11, 1785:
http://ao.salldata.dk/vis1.php?bsid=202698&side=98
3. child Dorthe Kristine Juul (after Fathers mother ?) born October 1788:
http://ao.salldata.dk/vis1.php?bsid=202698&side=99
4. child Marie Dorthe Juul (after mothers mother ?) born October 30, 1792:
http://ao.salldata.dk/vis1.php?bsid=202698&side=100
Juul = same page Hans Christensen's child Ane Juul born October 5, 1790
Could Hans Christensen bee the brother of Woldborg Christensdatter ? - and then the name Juul will come from Woldborg's family. "Juul" or "Juhl" or "Juel", surely the same.
in year 1771 there came a new name law for surnames in the Duchy of Schleswig, in the rest of Denmark from the year 1828 - therefore grandfathers name as surnames. In the first years thereafter there was some confusion about surnames.

Christian: Thanks for all your work and suggestions. It still remains a puzzle to me in many ways. I would like you to do a couple things....first, check the lists of guests at childrens baptisms that I've prepared. (Of course, you need to check my interpretation of the names....I'm rediculously bad at translating Danish to English.
Hans Christensen Andersen: Benedict Zerlong, Hans Olufsen, Jens Kreg, Anna Marie Nielsen, Metta Catherine Jesdatter
Christian Jensen Andersen: Morton Jensen, Anders Jensen, Christian Hansen, Bodil Jesdatter, Karen Toftus, Kirstine Jespersdatter
Dorthe Kristine Juul Andersdatter: Marion Smed, Margrethe Jesdatter, Anna Marie Jespersdatter, Iver Sorensen, Anders Nielsen
Marie Dorthe Juul Andersdatter: Ane Marie Zerlong, Malene Andersdatter, Hannah Becker's, Mads Andersen, Hans Christen Bierre
Jens Hansen Juul Andersen: Ivar Sorensen, Paul Bierre, Anders Nielsen, Ane Marie Andersdatter, Ellen Zerlong, Gunder Christensen
Woldborg Juul Andersdatter: Soren Madsen, Hazel Sorensdatter, Bodil Christensdatter, Christian Kier, Jep Martinberg
I know that many times, some of the guests are relatives and that in most cases, the one listed first is the one carrying the child, and is a relative. Somehow, I think the Zerlong group may be either relatives or very close neighbors.
My direct ancestor in the group is the only one who had a child...and he was unmarried. All of the others died before they married. Have you tried to find a marriage of Hans Christensen and a Dorthe somebody? I had never considered Hans Christensen as Anders Hansen's father... I often though it might be Hans Andersen! I really do appreciate all your efforts. I look forward to your comments every day. Thanks again, and stay safe from the virus!!!
Claude
Hi Claude
Hans Christensen will not be the father of Anders Hansen. The son Hans has surely his súrname from the mothers side, and he's name could then have been Hans Christensen Andersen or Hans Andersen Christensen.
You will have to find the parents of Woldborg Christensdatter and Hans Christensen (his brothers, if he is her brother).
But I did not find Woldborg Christensdatter as born in 1757 (1795 minus 38 = 1757),
But you got Woldborg born her:
https://www.danishfamilysearch.com/sogn346/churchbook/source139115/opslag15246689
From your question in the thread in 2018:
https://forum.slaegt.dk/index.php?topic=142660.0
Woldborg is then born in Toftlund, and when you got all her siblings and their families, then you can see who is family and who are neighbors.
Anders Hansen is surely not born in Toftlund parish, and therefore his family members are not present (?).
Use google translate to translate from danish to english - it just works :)

Christian
