HI. I'd like some assistance with record number 21 on this page. I'm not sure if it's saying the mother doesn't know the town of the father?

Yes, you are right. The mother does not know where the father lives.
A possibility

Hans in Skodborg is the best I found so far. I'm trying to figure out if it makes sense. Is Skodborg too far away from Aastrup? The mother would have been widowed in Aastrup with 2 children already. Hans apparently worked at an Inn? and had a family of his own in Skodborg living separately.
Maybe it's this man Hans Andersen Gjørding in Skodborg, died Aug.26, 1851
https://www.sa.dk/ao-soegesider/da/billedviser?bsid=455060#455060,81446574 right
son of late Anders Hansen in Gjørding and wife Dorthea Hansen.
1825 married to now late Karen Christens, with who he had 3 children, which all died.
Then married 1834 his surviving wife Anna Johanne Christens, with who he had 7 children,
from which are alive, Christen, Karen, Marie, Hanne Kjestine and Peter, all with the surname
Gjørding. Age 62 years.
So if he is identical to Hans Gørring - his first wife died abt 1833 - Cathrine Maria Gørring (born Dec.4,1834)
was 'produced' primo March 1834 - he might well have been on search for a 2. wife at this time and met
Stine Schmidt somewhere in Haderslev county.
Thank you!! I think this is the same man in the census. If he didn't marry Anne Johanne until 1834, it makes more sense to me. She did have 3 children on the 1834 census and the boy in 1830 appeared to be his...named Anders Hansen Gørring, but I haven't found the birth record yet.

The birth of Anders Hansen Gjörring in Skodborg on 28 April 1830. Father Hans Andersen Gjørring. Mother Johanne Anne Christensen.

There is a daughter Dorthea Hansen b. on 26 Aug. 1825. Father is Hans Andersen and mother Johanne Anne Christensen.

The last one is not correct - her name i Dorthea Adamsen and her father Jens Adamsen.
mvh Ole
Sorry about the last one.
This child Dorthea Hansen b. 1 May 1825 seems to be the daughter of Johanne Christensen in her marriage to Hans Hansen.? In Census 1834 there is a daughter Dorthea 9 years old. She has th name of her stepfather.

Thank you all. The mother of the two older children was Karen Christens. So, Ole's theory of Hans looking around for a new wife seems very good. I still wonder about the distance betweem Skodborg and Aastrup. Maybe it's not as much as I'm thinking. Or maybe Hans had some family near Aastrup.
Some data in the death record of HAG in 1851 are not correct, as:

Thanks Ole! I found the marriage record of Hans and Anne. From 1832, so he was not unmarried when Catherine was conceived, but I still think he is the best option. It appears that his wives were sisters, both born to Christian Sorensen and Maren if I am reading the records correctly.
ETA - I think Maren is in the same 1835 census page as Hans. There is a Maren Hansdatter about the correct age.

I must have been tired last night. I see know that the mother of Dorthea and Anders was named Karen C. I forgot to include the link to the birth of Dorthea on 1 May 1825.
