Hello,
Carl Georg Andersen was born 12 Mar 1885 in Sankt Hans, Odense, Odense, Denmark.
In 1890 for the census he was living in Bjergsted, Skippinge, Holbaek, Denmark.
For his confirmation 9 Apr 1899 he was living in Horsens Vor Frelsers, Vejle, Denmark.
In 1901 he is in Klakring, Bjerre, Vejle, Denmark.
He seems to go by Georg Andersen more often than not.
I lose him after this and can find nothing on him.
I thought if I found him in the levying rolls I might be able to figure out where he went but I cannot locate the rolls for the years I need.
Family Search has a great explanation how to locate military records here: https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Danish_Military_Levying_Rolls_(L%C3%A6gdsruller)#Strategy (https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Danish_Military_Levying_Rolls_(L%C3%A6gdsruller)#Strategy)
The problem I have is that there are no links (that I can see) to go with the instructions for finding the records for 1864 1931.

To find him in levying rools we must know which parish in lived in the year he went 18 years old.
And that will be 1903.
His is not in Klakring parish in 1903 when I looked up the rolls
In census 1906 he is gone from Klakring, we have to find his parish for 1903
I think this is the Carl Georg you are looking for

Hi Bente,
Horsens Vor Frelser is listed in both Vejle and Skanderborg and they appear to be the same records. Because Vejle is closer to Klakring, where Carl Georg Pedersen was living in 1901, I used Vejle.
Thank you for finding that Verner. Do I understand the record correctly that he arrives in Rårup (aka Lægd 127-128) in 1903 and is still there in 1914?
He is listed in Rårup in 1903. In red: 08 ei hjk ( hjemkommet ) i.e. he didn't come back.
In the 1914 roll: 2 june 1904 permission to go abroad. 1908 didn't come back. 1922 deleted from the roll.
"Omskrevet rulle" is written every 11th year if he stays in the same "lægd" or if he went abroad.
Verner
Thank you for explaining that! I wonder if he left the country and never came back which is why I am having trouble finding him.
ETA: I do not find him on the Ellis Island ship manifests for arrivals in New York, New York, United States on in a search on Københavns Politis Udvandrerprotokoller.
Normally people like Carl didn't come back.
It was not nessacary to tell "Politiet's Udvandrerprotokol" that you left DK.
The database contains the vast majority of emigrants who have purchased an overseas ticket from a Danish travel agent, but not those who have bought a ticket abroad or have not bought a ticket at all (eg seamen).
Verner
Thanks Verner.
It was a long-shot that I would find him on the emigration database.
