Hi,
I'm trying to find as many events about Jon Sighvatur Jacobaus, who was born in Keflavik, Iceland. He ended up migrating to Australia and thus became one of the first, if not first migration from Iceland to Australia. I'm the president of the Icelandic Australian Association of NSW and I'm planning to write up the highlight of his history, so any help would be appreciated..
I've got the following facts thus far..
1. He is born on the 15 February 1842 in Keflavik (Parents are Holger Jacobaeus, merchant and his wife Marie Charlotte Jacobaeus)
2. He is christened on the 1 March 1842 Jón Sighvatur Jacobæus according to the priests record.
3. He leaves Iceland with his mother Marie Charlotte and other siblings in late 1844.. The priest notes the following at the time: "Madame Jacobaeus left with her 9 children and aged mother, moving to relatives overseas and her husband, which had left earlier to obtain work."
4. He is found in the 1845 Census along with his father, mother and siblings at København, Sokkelund, Frederiksberg, Frederiksberg, Et huus, 60, FT-1845, B6459
5. He is again found in the 1850 Census along with his family at Færøerne, Strømø, Tórshavn, Thorshavn By, et Huus, 18, FT-1850, C1036 (His father Holger had moved with the family to the Faroe Islands to work)
6. He is again mentioned in October 1857 in a family breakup order from the Faroe Island, where he along with other siblings are to be sent to relatives in Denmark. This is due to his mother having died in 1854 and his father, Holger becoming an alcoholic and destitute..
7. He is next mentioned in November 1861, when a John Jackson is issued a "Second mate" certificate of competency by the privy council in England
8. Next he arrives on the schooner Countess of Fife on the 5th of August 1863 to Sydney.
I have more records and stories about his history in Sydney, plus have photos of him. I've also met his great grandson as well, who is alive and well in Sydney.
I'm interested to find out more about why and when he went from Copenhagen to England and what and where he was there. Also if anyone knows with which relative he stayed with in Copenhagen before going to England.
I'll just show the censuses you mention:

I've located Jon's sister Amalie in the 1860 Census for Nørre Løgum parish, Tønder county: https://www.danishfamilysearch.com/cid16395188
- and sister Helga in the 1860 Census for Skals parish, Viborg county: https://www.danishfamilysearch.com/cid14297372
Is Regine Magdalene, b. ca. 1824, also a sister?
- here in the 1860 Census for Østrup parish, Odense county: https://www.danishfamilysearch.com/cid8697499
Jon's mother Charlotte Marie Holst was born 1804 in Haasum parish, Viborg county: http://ddd.dda.dk/nygaard/visning_billed.asp?id=156561&sort=e
Charlotte Marie's father remarried 1815: http://ddd.dda.dk/nygaard/visning_billed.asp?id=156581&sort=e
I suppose there were many relatives in Denmark Jon could have stayed with.

Mange tak Inger..
Regine Magdalena is Jon´s sister..
I can also find Amalia Frederikke Unnur Ørsted født Jacobæus https://www.danishfamilysearch.com/cid16395188 and staying with her is her youngest brother Velejus Carl Fredinand Emil Jacobæus who was born in the Faroe Islands in 1851 and must have been one of the children sent back to Copenhagen.
However the Danish census from 1860 doesn´t show Jon Sighvatur Jacobæus as being present in Denmark or Faroe Islands. I can only presume he has already left for England at that time.
Are there priest parish census records available for this period? We have them in Iceland and the priest did an annual census in his parish.
I also gather the migration records from Denmark to England are not complete for this period either..

Simmi
As Jon was a sailor, he may have been aboard a ship at the time of the 1860 Census, and thus not registered in the census.
In Denmark priests did not do annual censuses.
Charlotte Marie's sister Christiane Vilhelmine married Niels Christian Gjørup, and it seems that Regine Magdalene is staying with the family in the
1840 Census for Viborg: https://www.danishfamilysearch.com/cid4255391 - see Orignal Source: Plejedatter 'foster daughter'
The family moved to Copenhagen before the 1845 Census: https://www.danishfamilysearch.com/cid6254187
