I am looking after Dines Jespersen kjöbmand in Iceland from 1756 up to 1788.
He is married to Mette Eiriksdatter in 1756 at Sauðlauksdalssókn V. -Barðastrandssýslu.
They had 4 children in Iceland:

sk. 8. Júlí 1777 Hvalsnes-sókn, Gull.,
He moves to Básenda around 1777 and gets a citizenship in Reykjavík 26 may 1788, so he must have lived there that year. They are all gone frome Iceland before 1801 and none of them are found dead in Iceland.

But where are his children and wife in 1801 census ?

Jeg tror, der står førhen og "nu huusfæster", men ikke sikker på førhen.
Der står "forhen Kiøbmand", men det betyder jo det samme, som Gitte skriver.
