Titel: Translation help for birth record, please, Christen Larsen, Aalborg

Christen Lauritis Larsen was born 27 January 1880 in Skorping, Aalborg, Denmark.

His parents were not married and his birth record has some discussion of his father. I don't read Danish and would appreciate help reading and translating to English the comments here.

Thank you very much!

I translate the remarks this way:

(The father's name was
incorrectly reported as Christian Jen-
sen in stead of Christian Larsen.)
The father has told the priest
orally that he is the father, and
permitted the child to bear his surname.
Reported to Gjerding-Blenstrup pastorate,
and concession for the recording [of the name]
received, dated February 14, 1880.

The first entry of the parents the father reads 'Jensen', so the last name of the son,Larsen, must have been added after the matter was cleared up.

The change to the surname Lobæk occured some years later.

With much gratitude again, Ralph.

Does this suggest that Christian Larsen was from Gjerding-Blenstrup?

Christian Larsen was 'serving' in Blenstrup.  His birthplace may have to be worked out from the 1880 census.

With luck it is transcribed.

What is the 24 Jan 1844 date regarding?

The 1844 date refers to the promulgation of the rule on reporting the official place of conception, which determined responsibility for the care of children whose parents could not provide for them financially.

I meant to include that in my translation, yet skipped a line.

It's good to know about this rule, for other study projects too.

Thanks, Ralph.
