Good morning,

I have been looking at the church records for Skt. Petri for my family and when they might have joined the church.  I found a record but do not understand the numbers that are listed after the name.  They appear to be page numbers but I am at a loss as to where to find these pages.

The entry in question is:
1728-1756 Skt. Petri, Sokkelund, Kobenhavn (membership)
Opslag 6
There are (3) Becker names listed in the right hand page towards the bottom.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Respectfully,
Ruth Becker Morenz

The book you refer to is the 'Index to the baptismal record' of the same period.  The numbers are page numbers.  With luck, page numbers are readable on the top outer corner of the images.

In a majority of the parish registers before 1814 there is a table of contents on one of the first opslags.  Bear in mind that many have foliation rather than pagination, e.g. betrothals begin on folio 50(a), the right hand side.  With foliation the left hand side should be the b side or 'verso'.

Some registers after 1814 also have foliation with their two page spreads, and may be numbered with respect to the left hand page.

Lissa,

I will do that.  I have to go to an appointment but when I get back, I will pursue this some more.

Thank you so much for your help and your interest.

Sincerely,
Ruth
