Many thanks Ruth.
Is there any mention of the mother of Kristiane?
Hi Thomas
No, the mother is not mentioned in that record, but you find her in FT 1801:
Viborg, Middelsom, Lee, Lee Bye, , 26de, FT-1801, B5470
Navn: Alder: Civilstand: Stilling i husstanden: Erhverv:
Søren Christensen 46 Gift Mand Huusmand med Jord
Margrethe Mortensdatter 38 Gift Hans Kone
Christen Sørensen 12 Ugift Deres Barn
Anne Kirstine Sørensdatter 10 Ugift Deres Barn
Morten Sørensen 8 Ugift Deres Barn
Sidsel Sørensdatter 6 Ugift Deres Barn
Anne Sørensdatter 5 Ugift Deres Barn
Laurs Sørensen 3 Ugift Deres Barn
Mariane Sørensdatter 1 Ugift Deres Barn
You find the baptism of the children:
Hjermind- Lee - Hjorthede 1751-1803:
1789 Christen , opslag 152
1791 Anne Kirstine, opslag 155
1793 Morten, opslag 161
1795 Sidsel, opslag 167
1798 Lars, opslag 175
1800 Mariane, opslag 180
1802 Kirsten, opslag 182
At all the baptisms the father is called Grud or Grund, but it is without doubt = Søren Christensen.
I do not see their wedding in Lee.
I have looked through dead as well and there is no death of his wife (till 1804), so Margrethe Mortensdatter must be mother of all the children.
Lars dies in 1804, bu I have not found any other children among dead persons untill then.

Ruth
Hello Ruth. By giving me the name Søren Christensen, you pre-empted my next question which was to be, 'in the 1801 census, why Christensen & not Gruds'
Thank you for all the info. It is much appreciated.
