I am looking for any information about: Carl Ferdinand Jacobsen  is born in Copenhage 1818. He is a Skibsfører 1845 at Lille Torvegade, Christianshavn Kvarter, København. Married to Magdalene Jacobsen born: Vinding 1818, they have a son there Søren Jacobsen, b. 16. august 1844 in Köben. dies 1877.

Søren was an assistant at Tulinius in Eskifjörð 1862-1865, Thaaes in Hofsós 1865-1868, later factor 1871-1877 with Örum & Wulff at Húsavík, Iceland.
Sören Married 1867 to Katrín Þorsteinsdóttir (who Tulinus had adopted) and they had 4 children.

Carl F. Jacobsen is said to be son of S. Jacobsen who did some business at Skagaströnd, but I don't find any records so he was probably with some others in company.

Thanks in advance
Tómas

Hello,

I think this is the right person:

København, Vor Frue, churchbook 1813-1822, p. 140

Carl Ferdinand, born 26.4.1818, son af Søren Jacobsen, "Høeker", and wife Johanne Birgitte Ingersløf

The parents are mentioned here:

http://www.dis-danmark.dk/forum/read.php?1,69000,69000

"høker (small shopkeeper), later on grosserer (wholesale dealer/merchant) Søren Jacobsen (ca 1779-1839) and Birgitte Johanne Ingerslev (1788-1820/24)"

I have found some memoirs written by a man, Luis Bramsen, who worked for Søren Jacobsen (the older):

He writes a lot about Søren Jacobsen: That he was an "Icelandic Merchant", i.e. a merchant in Copenhagen who did business on Iceland, and had an "establishment" on Iceland. This fits in with what you wrote about Carl Ferdinand Jacobsens father.
