Philadelphia - marriage and death of Rasmus Madsen 1863-?

Hello everyone 

I am searching information about my great-grandfather Rasmus Madsen, who in 1902 ran away to America leaving his wife a year after she had given birth to child no. 14. Some had died very young but still, she was alone with six children all under the age of 16.
I have found him in Philadelphia, where he is married to Marie A. Madsen. He dies after 1920 since I haven't been able to find him in census 1930, but have found Marie (I'm pretty sure I've found the right Marie)
I can't find them in Ancestry - neighter marriage nor their death.

If you have any clues as to where I can find this information in Philadelphia please write. I am trying to verify the family story that Rasmus ran away with the local baker's wife, and I hope to place Marie near Dalum, where Rasmus lived with his family.

Unless it's Rasmus' missing wife, none match Marie A. in Philadelphia.

I see no one has had any luck - if they had found anything, they would have posted.

You may need her marriage record or death record, which should state her father's name.

County courthouses usually have these records on microfilm - and if it is impossible to go there, then perhaps it would be worthwhile to pay a fee (a usual option offered) to have someone search for you.

Pennsylvania county also has an active genealogy society and possibly you can locate a volunteer to search for you.

Also, the 1940 census will be fully transcribed and indexed soon and it may yield clues. Actually, you could check the 1930 census an search right now for the enumeration district in which she was living at that time. If she didn't move, and didn't die, you could find her at her old address. Ancestry.com has a clever search tool developed for narrowing down the Philadelphia records so that you have only to search that one enumeration district. Or you may prefer to wait until the indexing is complete and a searchable database is available.

It's tough to find the right Marie immigrating in 1903, without the surname she was using at that time. Using the emigration database at ddd.dda.dk, I did find one Marie of the right age going to Philadelphia in 1903 (I searched + and - one year), but the rest of her information doesn't match your Marie (she wasn't born in Odense amt or living there).

Danish Archives Northeast has some records, a message board, and volunteers who might be willing/able to help.

Thank you all so much for your time. I really appreciate it. I know I have to find their marriage (if they did get married - don't know if they just stated that they were married in Denmark since the census have them being married for 22 years!) and information about their death.

I will see if I can find some helpers from the local genealogy society in Philadelphia. It will be an interesting search tough not an easy one.

I hope that the Anna Marie Madsen who came to Philadelphia in 1903 on Hekla is the Marie I'm looking for. I don't know how much one could get away with in terms of giving the right/wrong information to the authorities when going through Ellis Island.
In the danish records there is one Anne Marie Madsen age 40 leaving April 1st 1903 on Hekla bound for NY.
In the records for Ellis Island there is one Anna M Madsen age 40 arriving on Hekla (leaving Copenhagen April 1st) and she is married, her husband paid the fare and she is going to her brother Martin Johnson in Philadelphia.

What do you guys think. Could it be one and the same Marie?
