Translation help for marriage record

Hi,
I've just joined, looking for help tracing some of my Danish ancestors. My great-grandfather, William George Woodman, married Mathilde Zwergius in Randers in 1869. I've found the record but the gothic script has defeated me - can anyone please help me to decipher it?

I have no idea when or why William came to be in Randers or what he was doing there. I presume his occupation will be listed, which will help (he was an accountant in London). Sometime before 1881 they moved back to England but up to now I haven't been able to find him or any of the Zwergius family in the Danish census records, so there's still a lot of research for me to do.

I simply cannot read his occupation - could perhaps be "befalingsmand" ? (= officer) - but not sure.

Thanks Lissa.

I had found the Familysearch record already - it's not complete, of course. They had two children, the second was my grandfather, Albert Percival, and Mathilde died in Liverpool in 1929. Some of the entries on other genealogy records have been taken from the IGI database and say that her place of death was the USA but that's not correct.

Can you tell me what the year 1852 signifies on Mathilde's record, and am I right in thinking that the word before it is "Klingberg", i.e. in Schleswig-Holstein?

That's helpful. The only official record I've found for Frederich in the archive is his marriage in 1848 at Skt Mariæ Lynge-Kronborg Frederiksborg Helsingør (1836-1891).

There's a reference on a website to a parish record of a wedding at Cronborg Slotskirke. Frederich is described as Proprietær Frederik Zwergius ejer af Dalmosegaard, so I can look for that in Maarum. Two of the witnesses at the wedding were Generalmajor og commandant på Cronborg
H. von Rothe og assesor Erik Eschilsen af Kiøbenhavn.

I wonder why he was married at the chapel at Kronborg rather than at the main church?

He is mentioned in Nygaards sedler as the owner of Raaballegaard 1n 1861 and 1869 (see attached)

Based on the Nygaards note that you posted, you can find Frederich's death record in:

AO: 1869-1884 Hørning, Sønderhald, Randers ops 165.

No new information however.

Albertine Elisabeth Eschildsen's (nee Marcher) family were from Bornholm so there's information about them on the Bornholm genealogy site. It's the Zwergius and Eschildsen families I can't find much about in the public records. Thank you for the time you've spent - at least I can take comfort from knowing that the problem isn't only my ignorance of Danish!
