Could someone explain Jutland?
Could someone speaking Danish tell an English speaking marriage license person he is from Jutland and it get written as Uland?  Because of pronunciation?
Is someone born in Nørre Kongerslev Sogn, Hellum, Ålborg AMT also said to be from Jutland?
I haven't found any maps that explain this to me.

Jutland is the English word for the large peninsula of Denmark from the German border up to Skagen.  Jylland is the Danish word for the same.  Yes, a Dane pronouncing Jylland would sound like Uland.  Listen to google translate pronounce it:  https://translate.google.com/#da/en/jylland and click on the speaker icon below jylland.

Yes, someone from Ålborg amt could say they were from Jylland.  It's easier than giving the name of the village, since the village was small, and Denmark was small and no one else would know where it was.  And if they had trouble writing Jylland, imagine what Nørre Kongerslev would look like.

The pronounciation in English of Jylland could very well be Uland.
